EPA’s Proposed Methane Rules
EPA’s Proposed Methane Rules
Public Comment Period Nov. 15, 2021 to Jan. 14, 2022
EPA recently proposed amendments to NSPS OOOO and NSPS OOOOa in response to the recent Congressional Review Act (CRA) that rescinded the Trump Policy Amendments of September 2020. The EPA is not considering comments for these amendments as they are a formality to update the Code of Federal Regulations to reflect the decision of the CRA.
EPA is also proposing two new subparts, NSPS OOOOb and EG (Emissions Guidelines) OOOOc. Although the proposed subparts are not formal rule text, EPA has put forward their plans for what equipment and processes will be regulated and the numerical standards. These proposed rules are in public comment until January 14, 2021.
We have put together a high-level summary to provide a guide with regard to what will be regulated. Within our summary are links to some specific pages within the Federal Register document as well as a link to the Federal Register and the full 154 page document. Read our summary here.
